Restoration and adaptation of the 17th century architectural monument “Tveretinov's Chambers”
2005 - 2006 Russia, Moscow
It is a very interesting monument of Moscow Baroque that looked like a very common mansion and several years ago and now became a brilliant decoration of a very nice side-street in the Pokrovka area. In the process of its renovation its complex construction story was revealed, a brick courtyard of the mid-18th century was restored and valuable interior elements were retained. One of the risalits in the courtyard received a tactful buildout that is almost invisible from the outside. The attic space was also put into use. The change of functional zoning was carried out during the restoration, a place for inner staircase was found, the entrance was given its initial place and the interiors were cleared from partition walls and walk-through rooms. 1,2 meters of occupation layer was removed and the initial building height was revealed.
