Reconstruction of an Apartment House in Kislovsky Lane
2005–2013. Moscow, Russia
The building is located near the Kremlin, but despite this, the only limitations connected with the project development imposed constraints on the height. In fact, the house is neither listed as a historical or cultural landmark, nor it belongs to any heritage conservation area. The existing threestory building underwent replanning. Two more floors were added, while the most interesting elements of the facades were preserved. The vertical extension looks like a biomorphic, radically alien structure, restrainedly displayed along Kislovsky Lane and revealing its unconventional audacious forms when viewed from the courtyard.
